Goodbye, beloved Hele!

What a special time, what fortune, what wonder, what tiny frustrations that are so manageable it’s a relief just to observe the ridiculousness of my humanity, what fun to be on the inside of this really cool shop, what fab creators and customers. What luck to know one of my jobs each week has a definitive beginning, middle, and end.

Friends – it’s happening – she’s leaving us. After six years (six years!) of LOLs and bubble wrap and post office queues, our beloved Hele is moving on to bolder, bigger, stranger things. Words can’t express my gratitude – Hele is one in a million, my closest friend and a quiet force for good. There’s no way that LRT would be the peaceful, happy place that it is today without her reflections, ideas, support and witnessing. Farewell, Best Shop Person Eva – you’ll never be replaced.

Right back at the start (OMG you had long hair)…

A message from Hele…

Hey folks,

Wow. What to say? The time has come. I’m no longer packing parcels, sticking stickers, getting the inventory wrong, responding to all your lovely emails, and in the sweet and magical world of Little Red Tarot. Nooooo ? Honestly, it’s not sunk in yet… It’s just like I’ve been knocked off schedule and whirling about in some weird helter-skelter dreamscape for a couple of months… which is kinda true: mid-life people, mid-life – aka The Tower. Yet, with these words it is made real. It’s time to say goodbye ?

Goodbye wonderful friends and fans of LRT!

It’s been six years (wtf) of lovely, gorgeous, seductive tarot decks and pink wrapping paper, red hearts galore, coffee with Beth, fights with Jammy the cat over the bubble wrap, fights with the label machine, trips to the post office, and taking care of you, our incredible customers. Thank you for being there along the way. Each week I would connect with so many of you through email or your orders – such small ways, but still, you have influenced, inspired, humbled and honed me. No word of a lie.

Earlier today, I stood behind the packing desk for the last time and felt the warmth of it. What began as a next step in the experiment for Beth, and a much-needed income for me, became an anchor and reliable support; a place of discovery and – yes, in the very best sense – repetition and routine.

But now, this is really the end… gulp. I cannot leave without saying a particularly big thank you though – thank you to all of you, and thank you to Beth. Beth, mate, I love you (best boss eva!). Thank you for employing me, thank you for your patience with me, thank you for sharing your precious creation with me, thank you for trusting me. Thank you for teaching me about what it is to invest in your intentions, invest in your people, invest in change and being changed. My (almost) moonwalk out the back door does not represent at all well the many feelings I have yet to catch up with about my shop time with you. Simply, gratitude. And friends reading, let me just tell you, I took my lead from Beth in everything I did in the shop. Everything. She really cares about you, and she really cares about creators. She’s the secret genius behind the whole shebang, and she really wants you to have a good experience. I hope you do, too.

So, for the last time…

Warm wishes,

Hele

ps. Oh yeah, and thanks to the fkn tarot! It’s why we’re all here after all… helping us figure out why we’re all here. Lol.
