I (Beth) am seriously concerned about web privacy and online surveillance, and I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected when you use this website.

This privacy policy sets out how Little Red Tarot uses and protects any information that we collect from you. For cookies, scroll down.

How we collect information

First up: We do not use Google Analytics on this site or any of our other sites. You won’t be ‘followed’ here (unless you are logged in to Facebook, in which case they’re tracking you wherever you go – you can get browser extensions that prevent this.)

Information is collected when you do any of the following:

  • Purchase something in the Little Red Tarot Shop – we collect your name, email, billing and delivery address for obvious reasons.
  • Sign up to our newsletter – we collect your email (surprise!) and your name if you give it (optional).
  • Sign up to our online course – we collect your name, email, and your location (collected anonymously for tax purposes)

We do not store your financial details. Much as we hate ’em, we use PayPal (a well-established payment processor with high security standards) to collect payments – as far as we can find, there is no ethical payment processor as yet, hit us up if you find one! Your financial information is encrypted and we do not have any contact with your credit card information, bank details or any other financial information.

For our newsletter we use Email Octopus, an email marketing service, to store email addresses and send emails. Click here to view Email Octopus’s privacy policy. You can click ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of any of our emails to completely remove yourself from this database. Email Octopus holds data in compliance with GDPR (even post-Brexit).

For our ‘waitlist’ notifications, your email address (and nothing else) is held until that single notification is sent out, then automatically deleted once that has happened. You are not added to any other mailing lists and we do not retain your email address.

What we do with the information we gather:

Via the #Decklust newsletter we send a monthly(ish) roundup of shop news, namely what products are new in store, new pre-orders, returning products and other pertinent information.

Via our ‘waitlist’ notifications, your email goes on a list, and you are automatically emailed as soon as that item is available. Your email is then deleted from our system.

When you order from our shop, you may create an account or checkout as a guest. Your details (name, address, email, nothing more) are held in the system on our website. If you opted to create an account, you may view this information on your account page. You may request to have this permanently deleted and your account closed at any time, simply email and we will be happy to do so.

When you sign up to our course, again you create an account. Your details (name, email, country, nothing more) are held on our system. You may request to have this permanently deleted and your account closed at any time.


Like any online shop, this site uses ‘cookies’. If you are not happy about cookies, please leave the site, as it will not work without them! I will not make a pretense of asking for your ‘consent’, it makes a mockery of the idea of consent since we are asked for it multiple times per day.

If you visit our login page, the site will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, this site will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you leave a review/comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies – this is completely optional. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.


We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we use services (Email Octopus, WooCommerce, WordPress and PayPal) that we trust to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Our website and newsletters contain many links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site/email, please note that we do not have any control over that other website. We cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to change our use of your personal information in the following ways:

Newsletter recipients may at any time change your mailing preferences. A link can be found at the bottom of every email we send you. Here you are able to unsubscribe from individual newsletters and/or our entire Email Octopus database, in which case all trace of your information will be automatically deleted.
