Hey there dear tarot lovers,

It’s a short and sad one from us today, to say that we have (indefinitely) paused all orders to the EU from 2pm (CET) on 11/08/26.

We’re gutted to have made this decision, and really sorry to all of you wonderful folks we are connected with in the EU.

From the 12th August, changes to EU legislation around packaging come into effect. The PPWR legislation is a drive to make all packaging recyclable, which at surface reading sounds like a great thing. However, what it asks of businesses, no matter how big or small, is separate registration and reporting with recycling bodies in all 27 EU member states. Each member state will have its own reporting conditions, timelines and fees, ranging from around €90 to 1000s of euros per year. Unfortunately, the cost and admin required is just far too much for a small business like ours, many others of whom who are also pausing trade whilst we all get our heads around it.

Is there any hope?! Well, in October, the EU will review whether to make an exemption for small businesses. You can sign petitions and leave feedback on the PPWR consultation on the EU’s website. We are hoping, with enough pushback, that the EU will make the right choice, and we can open our shop back up to EU customers again in two months. In the meantime, we’re so sorry.
