Description
An accessible, beautiful tarot deck from illustrator Stasia Burrington. Based on the Rider-Waite-Smith framework, the Yukika tarot renames a number of cards to (in Stasia’s words) “suit myself, a messy and fluid Japanese-American artist in 2025”. Yukika is Stasia’s middle name, and can be roughly translated as “happy flower”.
From Stasia:
“This is a deck for the big-hearted. For the depressed and anxious artist, the beginner, and the burnt-out. For those in the middle, those mixed, those born into and raised in cults. This deck is meant to be a healing potion. A fat, juicy, fortifying elixir to fortify your heart and bring you back into a safe, grounded body, in times of apocalypse. I love you, and I believe you. This deck is a companion and a witness.”
The deck comes with a 100-page guidebook (pdf here) written by Stasia, “queer and divergent daughter of Moonies Stay-juh”. The hard, lidded box, card back details and card edges feature a gorgeous pink-blue holographic foil. Each of this first printing of 1000 decks comes with a numbered holographic sticker to guarantee authenticity.
In the box:
- 80 cards (7x12cm; matt finish 350gsm art paper) with holographic detailing on the back and edges;
- Rigid box with lid;
- 100-page guidebook.
