Description

The Sapphic Enchantress Tarot Deck, by Cambridge-based illustrator Ayshe-Mira Yashin, is for people of marginalised genders and sexual orientations. This deck explores not only the love that can exist between women, but also the strength that exists in women themselves.

The prominent depiction of sapphic women situated in natural settings is a subtle response to the homophobic reduction of queer love and intimacy to something that is “unnatural”. The use of the word “enchantress” is important here – each person who uses this tarot deck may, if they wish, evoke their inner enchantress and explore multiple aspects of their lives through the use of magic. The deck is deliberately representative of all women, including women who do not have biologically female bodies. TERFs are not welcome here!

The cards are sepia, matt, have a thickness of 350GSM, and are all lovingly hand-cut at home by creator Ayshe-Mira Yashin.

All tarot decks come with a handmade zine detailing key meanings of each card (upright and reversed), analysis of tarot symbolism and imagery, and guidelines for how to read and use the cards. This is widely palatable, including for beginner witches and tarot practitioners!
