Going deeper with each card
It’s a great idea to journal your daily tarot card. The prompts below are designed to encourage you to think about each card in terms of your own life, what it means for you personally. You’ve read my thoughts, taken in a few key ideas and themes for the card. Now – what does this look like in your own life?
When you have the time, after reading the daily lesson, choose one of the following prompts and use it to probe deeper into your card.
You might want to…
- Pick one prompt and use it to write about your card in your tarot journal
- Post your card to Instagram (use #acardaday!) or other social media with a short write-up inspired by one of these prompts
- Blog your daily card, using a journal prompt to inspire a post
- Use the prompts as starting points for discussion in a tarot group (in person or online!)
It’s completely up to you!

The interpretations in this course are just one person’s ideas, but you don’t have to agree with them. Maybe they don’t resonate for you? It’s fine (in fact, it’s good!) to come up with your own.
Same card, different decks
If you have more than one tarot card, it’s a great idea to pull out the card from each of your decks. Look for the symbols each card has in common – and also the ways the artwork shines a different light on the card’s meaning. What elements of the card meaning does each illustration highlight? You might ask yourself which image you prefer, and why.
This is an exercise we practice in the Alternative Tarot Course, and is a really helpful way to learn and remember card meanings.
