The Seed Edition takes a wild and experimental approach to reimagining original Gentle Tarot art in ways that feel simultaneously lighter, more open, and with a certain kind of power that feels more pertinent in these times. Most of the cards are easily recognisable from the Gentle Tarot First Edition, and have gained an updated colour scheme or updated imagery. Four cards feature brand new art. Suites are colour-themed and the deck has white borders that make the art pop and allow the deck to speak to you in a new way. The edition includes opening and closing intentions, four bonus cards; including two additional Major Arcana, one of which is horizontal, encouraging you to zoom out and adopt a wider perspective. The deck also includes three borderless altar cards featuring My Friend Fire art with handwritten affirmations. All decks come with a color booklet. Continuing the decolonising process that is an essential part of the Gentle Tarot, certain card names have been changed; Justice is now Choices, Hierophant is now Confluence, and Judgement is now Emergence. All changes were made with the input of Kickstarter backers and Patreon members and following Mari’s intention to make this deck as gentle as possible without sacrificing strength in any way.

The Seed Edition comes in two finishes:

The Kickstarter Black Core, printed on 330gsm German Black Core, is the version funded by the 2025 Dream Deck Kickstarter. It has a butter finish for a smoother shuffling experience. Comes in a magnetic closing box that opens on the side. The cards measure 70 x 120mm and feature periwinkle purple gilding.

The Traditional Make & Finish, printed on 350gsm art paper with an anti-scratch matte lamination, matches the Gentle Tarot First Edition. It comes in a two-part box with a color booklet and periwinkle purple gilding that is slightly darker and with extra shimmer. Important note: This version underwent a minor manufacturing error during the application of the sparkle in the gilding. Testing discovered that decks may contain loose glitter particles; though not all decks, and some a little more than others. Due to this unexpected production irregularity, this version is at a discounted price. This potential residue does not affect the quality of the cards. The glitter is non toxic and will disappear with use.
