About this book
Creating the Future Ancestor Tarot offered me endless comfort through cycles of grief and fear of the unknown – the year was 2020 and I had just lost two important loved ones in my family and the world around was filled with uncertainty. Art and tarot allowed me to process my fears and grieving heart, and as I moved through tears and opened my eyes, my version of the Death card was born.
Creating the rest of the deck that summer was tremendously healing. I loved that I could see myself, loved ones, and culture embedded in the cards and that it uniquely reflected the way I see the world as a second generation Filipina-American artist, feminist, queer, nature-adoring witch.
Once this deck left my art studio and into the homes of many others, I received so many loving messages and questions on how to work deeper with the cards. This set me on the journey in creating this book you hold in your hands.
Not long after my writing process began, I found out I was pregnant with my first baby and a new cycle had begun. I knew I wasn’t writing this simply for you and me, and but for her and the future ancestors of generations after us, as well.
