Gift Ideas: Witchy/self-care gifts that aren’t tarot decks

So, obviously you’re a massive tarot fan …but maybe your friends aren’t?

Not to worry – from planners and calendars to playing cards, books and zines, we have tons of magical goodies that make perfect gifts for the non-tarot folks in your life :)

Here are our suggestions!

Playing Cards

I couldn’t pick just one deck to suggest here, so let me introduce all four! Magic Neko is a super-cute, cat themed deck (which can also be used as an oracle!) Portable Fortitude is a long-standing favourite – intricately illustrated words of wisdom and protection, and the genderqueered kings and queens are literary heroes. Inge Look’s two decks are a celebration of enduring female friendship, laughter and cronehood. I love them all!

Many Moons Lunar Planner

Sarah Gottesdiener’s planner needs no introduction – it’s a cult hit! A journal, datebook and lunar guidebook all rolled into one, Many Moons is packed with witchy wisdom to help you follow lunar rhythms and incorporate more spiritual self-care into your daily life. Featuring thirteen new articles written by diverse witches from across our community, one for each full moon of 2020, along with ritual ideas, journal prompts and tarot spreads throughout the year.

The Iris Oracle

I don’t make enough fuss about this wonderful, quirky, insightful deck by Spirit Speak creator Mary Elizabeth Evans – it’s just really, really cool and never fails to send me off on a weird and wonderful intuitive path. Illustrated in Mary’s signature folk-art style, these 78 numbered cards offer up strange and unexpected lines of personal enquiry.

Stay Close: A Calendar of Small Spells 2020

The first thing I do when my annual order of these beautiful calendars comes in is put aside one for myself, and 2020’s edition, Stay Close, is no exception. Offering twelve hand-painted illustrations, each with its own tiny spell (you can check the creators’ website for a fuller version), this calendar is a yearly collaboration between sisters Jocelyn Mosser and Corina Dross. At the end of each year, you have twelve prints to frame and give as presents!
